My aim is to try to isolate some of the basic frameworks of understanding available in our society for *** sense out of events and to ***yze the special vulnerabilities to which these frames of reference are subject.

I assume that definiti*** of a situation are built up in accordance with principles of ***anization which govern events - at least social ones - and our subjective involvement in (p.11) them; frame is the word I use to refer to such of these basic elements as I am able to identify. That is my definition of frame. My phrase "frame ***ysis" is a slogan to refer to the examination in these terms of the ***anization of experience.

... framing does not so much introduce restricti*** on what can be meaningful as it does open up variability. Differently put, pers*** seem to have a very fundamental capacity to accept changes in ***anizational premises which, once made, render a w*** strip of activity different from what it is modeled on and yet somehow meaningful, in the sense that these systematic differences can be corrected for and kept from dis***anizing perception, while at the same time involvement in the story line is maintained. C***ider in this light some further differences between staged activity and its modeled-after counterpart.

It has been argued that strip of activity will be perceived by its participants in terms of the rules or premises of a primary framework, whether social or natural, and that activity so perceived provides the model for two basic kinds of transformation - keying and fabrication. It has also been argued that these frameworks are not merely a matter of mind but correspond in some sense to the way in which an ***ect of the activity itself is ***anized - especially activity directly involving social agents. Organizational premises are involved, and these are something cognition somehow arrives at, not something cognition creates or generates.
